The elf hums as he finishes up with his display case, settling down in one of the chairs with a hum to wait for his customers, the day already shaping up to be one well spent.

“You too!” She leaves with a smile. Happily strolling back to her dorm

"Have a good day, and I hope you enjoy those cookies!" He waves as she heads out the door, humming softly to himself. His attention soon returns to the display case, and he fusses over it a bit more before he finally gets a configuration he's happy with.

“Perfect! I look forward to hearing from you, Leis. Thank you again”

"You're welcome," he says, quickly typing out a message to her and pressing send. To: Rosemary > It's Leis

“Okay!” She scribbles everything down and hands the paper back “There you go. Thank you so so much, sir. I really appreciate it”

"Yeah, that'll work! One second." He rumages around for a moment before finding a pen and paper, sliding it over to Rosie. "There, just write down your name and number, I'll send you a text so you know it's me, and then once I figure out what paperwork needs to happen and get a hold of it, I'll let you know."

“I-I can leave you my phone number! Does that work?”

"Alright, it might take me a couple days to get the paperwork drafted up and sorted for everything, and you'll have to fill those out before you can actually start...but consider yourself hired in the interim. I'll need a way to contact you though to let you know when the paperwork is ready to be filled out, and we can also go over availability then, too."

“All my kit’s payed for! I…I just like to shop. 15’s fine be me” she smiles

"I mean, you'd be starting at 15 an hour at least, considering it's the minimum wage here," he says with a shrug. "But I'm open to adjustments as needed, especially since you're a student...I know how expensive shit can be."

“…uh…I didn’t think I’d get this far…uh….hm…”

"How much are you looking to get in an hourly rate?" he asks, moving to wipe down a section of the counter to clear off some crumbs.

“I mean…register work is fine by me. If that’s what you’d need the most help with”

"Oh, um...come to think of it, I probably should," he says, pausing for a moment. "I only just opened up shop a few days ago, and business has been a bit slow so far, but I'll definitely need help if it picks up. I'd mostly need someone to keep an eye on the register more than anything, I love baking."

“That’s very generous” she beams “…hey…you don’t need…help do you? …what I mean to ask is-…you’re not…hiring?”

"I'm sure," he says, smiling wide. "It's Nightal, and even if it wasn't, I'm not gonna charge a student for two extra cookies on top of a dozen."

“Oh- are you sure? That’s very kind” she hands over the money “Thank you very much. Happy holidays, sir”

He smiles and packs up a box with all of the cookies, in various shapes and beautifully decorated. "Here we go, fourteen gingerbread cookies! I'll just give you the price for a dozen, so that'll be six silver," he says, grinning wide and handing her the box.

“Decorated! That’s my favourite bit of baking. The decorating part. Apart from the “licking the bowl” part” she giggles “Thank you so much”

"Alright, fourteen coming right up! Do you want them decorated or plain?" The perks of having batches of both, she can choose whichever she likes.

“Cookies, certainly” she smiles She counts on her fingers “Can I have fourteen? I’m planning on taking some home”

"Gingerbread? Yeah, I think I've got some," he says, turning and looking through everything he has. There's a selection of both decorated and un decorated cookies, as well as perfectly baked loaves. "Did you want cookies or loaves?"

“Do you have any gingerbread? I love baking but I haven’t had a lot of time and my dorm is very small. I miss it and I’m not gonna bake until I’m home”

He's currently setting up quite the stock of holiday cookies and pastries, as well as some different breads. It's not taken much time for him to get into the swing of things at the bakery, his new apartment all but fully set up at this point.

He blushes a bit and nods, still feeling giddy. "Let's go shopping, I'm sure you know better places than I do. I usually end up thrifting most of my stuff."

Now I must insist you let me take you shopping or at least give you an allowance to go shopping. It is far too cold.”

He is scoping out his new seat in the corner next to the window when Leis finds him, hugging him tightly. “So this is satisfactory then? I am looking forward to the many cookies you will make~” he asks, nuzzling into the baker’s head with his own.

He can feel the tears of happiness welling up as he walks through, fingers lightly trailing over the surface of the table. The collection of mixing bowls and equipment is extensive, and more than enough for him to expand his culinary creations beyond the boundaries of cookies and cakes It's perfect. He immediately pulls Mathias into another hug when he returns to the seating area, holding him close. "Thank you...it's perfect."

This bakery is owned and operated by one Leis Everwood. If someone were to visit during the holidays of the local university or during the end of the tenday, they would likely spot a regular, legs crossed in his reserved and sumptuous chair next to the window on the far end of the bakery with both an excellent view of patron comings and goings, as well as the baker behind the counter. Other regulars know this man as the dragon and mate of the owner, a kind, stoic man who is very fond of the baker's cookies.
